The last few years have seen the vast proliferation of different forms of machine vision which have introduced a new generation of images that are either produced by machines and “seen” by machines, without the human gaze ever involved, or produced by humans but immediately analyzed and circulated by algorithms. The artist Zach Blas and the curator Laliv Melamed present their respective works on different forms of machine vision and participate in a discussion introduced and moderated by Antonio Somaini (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3).

The event, curated by Antonio Somaini with Marco Dalla Gassa, is organized in collaboration with the scuola Dottorale di Storia delle Arti and the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage of Ca’ Foscari University in Venice.
